Howdy, I moved into my new build 5 months ago and ever since have noticed my attic is infested with flies, literally thousands of them. The attic is a cold one with some veluxes for potential future development. To my knowledge there is nothing dead up there or does it smell....Has anyone else had this problem?

Had it last year, when we werent in, There in there to die!. My brothers garage had same problem, thousands of them dead on the floor. they were stuck to the felt. I guess they come in the soffit air vents.

OP is there a mesh behind your soffit vents?

Cluster flies, get basil and mint plants, and get a blower fan to find your leaks and plug them, especially the leaky seals at rooflights.

I wonder are they more prominent around a site, after the ground is all dug up, witht he earthworms near by!.. I must check my attic tonight

I just put in my fiberglass insulation in the attic at the weekend and the little buggers were all over the place. was thinking of hanging a few sticky strips.
