    I was browsing online on my mobile the other day and when on a site it came up to say I'm banned as there was indecent images posted from my IP address. This phone is new and I'm new to using the internet on it so it obviously wasn't me. Is it possible that others share the IP address and this has nothing to do with me?

    Yes, your internet provider probably gives you a dynamic IP address provided from a pool of IP addresses that they have available. Dynamic meaning that it changes everytime you use the internet (ie, you get given whichever one is available).

    It's even less about you if you are browsing from a mobile as networks use something called NAT to preserve addresses. What this means quite a few people could be using the exact same address at the exact same time and there is no way of differentiating between them without the ISPs help. Absolutely nothing for you to worry about beyond not having access to the site in question.

    Could just be a dodgy site trying to get you to download something. Did it offer you software to download or ask for an email address
