PS3 BD-R .avi files will it work?

Hi,

I don't have a PS3 myself so need some advice, my friend who doesn't have broadband recently asked me to download & burn some .avi divx videos to a DVD which I did and he is able to watch these on his PS3.

However not all of the videos fit on a single DVD so I was wondering is it possible to burn a BD-R disk full of avi files and watch them this way rather than having to burn several DVD's due to their size limitation of 4.4GB as I have 19GB of video files for him?

Sounds illegal to me.

Works off a hard drive so just depends if it recognises the disc as a data disc.

better off putting them on a usb hard drive and testing them out. Save you wasting a disc if they didn't work.

Most .avi files will play on the ps3 though ... not all, but most.
