As it is often hard to motivate children, I have found that have some activities will help children learn easier. For e.g. I remember doing a poem about a smelly sports bag for pastimes and kids were able to do the actions and they really enjoyed it. or like haka....

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any Irish Poetry that would involve the kids getting up maybe and doing some actions to go with the poem, that they would enjoy it and more importantly they would remember it.

I would really appreciate some help from those who have love of language because I really want to help them enjoy the lessons. Thanks

I don't have anything offhand - but there is a book called "Cniogaide Cnagaide", which is a collection of rhymes - hundreds of them - that are suitable for children, and you will definitely find useful stuff in it.
The collection was made by Nicholas Williams, and it will be available from the usual places (litriocht.com cuplafocal.ie etc.)
    or, best of all: https://www.cic.ie/item.aspx?id=1644
It's a teachers resource - no brightly coloured pictures for kids to look at, but loads and loads of traditional stuff (not translations English nursery rhymes), so the language is completely natural.
