Ya, its a horror/thriller. Pilot definitely showed some potential.

There's actually already a thread (** SPOILERS **) discussing this show and it's being done so at the US pace. Think they're on episode 6? It gets even better and even stranger.

Watched American Horror Story on FX last night and it was so scary i actually had a nightmare and i always watch horrors . It was fine to start with but just got creepier and creepier, by the end i was really unsettled . Anyone else see it and what did ye think :eek::eek::eek:

If you think the first episode was creepy and unsettling, you should probably stop watching it now. It gets far more bonkers and creepy.

watched the pilot and it was amazing :D cant wait for next episode! finally something genuinely scary and creepy not just some cheap popout of the dark scares!everythings so scary, down syndrome girl, blonde killer emo boy, emo daughter, bullies at school, adelaides mother, cleaning lady, guy burnt by fire, guy in black suit, ginger twins who were murdered, just so good, love the show..not really for the feint hearted though, ive watched many horrors and not been scared but this really had me on edge!!

IT's good enough to give it a few episodes but if it dosn't develope somewhat better than the opening ep. I'll drop it.
It's like Twin Peaks on speed so far, which could be fun but it lacks the real creepiness of TP and the depth.

I thought it was alright but tbh I thought it needed MORE proper scares. I'm sick of all the kinky sex sh%t too, it's totally being overdone on shows lately imo. That family are totally weird and dysfunctional to begin with. I think the daughter is gonna grate on me, found her quite annoying in the pilot. Overall though I have high hopes...please don't let me down.

ye i hate the dughter too, shes like 12 and shes smoking:confused: and i hate the way shes meant to be like emo or something, be much better if she was just a normal girl freaked out by all the supernatural goings on like her parents, she shouldnt be enjoying the stuff , hate how shes meant to be in to all that emo and death sh!t.I'm sick of all the kinky sex sh%t too, it's totally being overdone on shows lately imo-ye totally agree i hate the way tv and movies do that nowwith horrors shows or movies , why does everyhorror have to become some messed up porn horror, like did we really need to see the father nearly naked about 7 times in one episode:mad: and the cleaning lady hitting on him was just weird, and the black stretch suit guy having sex with the mom was just disgusting wish theyd leave that all out..

Sex and death are the two stapels of horror, have been since Sheridan Le Fanu wrote Carmilla. But whats changed is the lack of any subtlety now.
be much better if she was just a normal girl freaked out by all the supernatural goings
I thought the daughter was good, she was freaked when the weird stuff happened, up to then it was all new and strange because of moving not because of being supernatural.

I'm hooked, have DL all the episodes so far. Really impressed, the pilot was scary, hasn't gotten much scarier than that really though imo.

Think its created by the same lads who did Nip Tuck, enjoyed that as well..

Watched the pilot again and I have to say I'm definitely impressed with this show. I thought it had a feel of Twin Peaks, The Shining, People Under the Stairs and for some reason Donnie Darko (without the time travel).

I gave Heroes 2 seasons, I gave The Event half a season..surely this will be worth at least a few more episodes.

    I gave Heroes 2 seasons
Shouda skiped the middle two, Se01 and Se04 of Heroes rocked.
Hoping like anything this turns out good, the setup is intriguing, the cast good, and the look and feel is good. Nip-Tuck though... Worrying. That got tired fast.

Highly impressed by the pilot, it’s certainly fast moving although I didn’t find it scary. The wife looks like an older version of Isla Fisher.

Does anyone know what the actress that plays the wife was in before this? I know her face and it's really bugging me. The young version of the maid I've seen somewhere before too. Actually the only one I don't recognise from another show is the actress who plays the daughter...and that's no loss imo (very irritating character)

    Friday Night Lights?

Don't recognise the young version of the maid... the older version was the mother (Ruth) in 'Six Feet Under'.

Never watched Friday Night Lights. I knew the older maid was in Six Feet Under though, I LOVED that show.

Whats with all the hate for the daughter? I think shes the most normal one in the cast.
She dose look and move kinda like the daughter in Treme, so I guess it a 'type' .

I kept thinking the actress looks like Vera Farmiga.. then realise they're sisters - so makes sense!

Well Ep2 was excellent IMO. I really want to see where this goes. The Mom, Dad and daughter aren't the best characters on screen, they don't seem to have much in the way of likeability but the others in the show are fascinating. Jessica Lange is top notch altogether and the interplay between the blonde lad and the dad is brilliant. I can see myself dedicating a fair bit of time to this series:)

Played it just right, enough crazy to be scary, enough humor to be likeable and she still looks kinda hot for her age :)
