You run the risk of them being taken by customs and destroyed by garda if they arent downgraded properly and they come in hot.

As long as you make sure it is within the legal power limit you should be fine, although remember to factor in shipping costs and then the added VAT if its caught by customs

check out the retailers forum here and you'll see there is a lot more shops than eirsoft and mia.
And a lot of them are a lot cheaper.

    Hears the retailers forum- http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1117

And if not, you can usually inform retailers via e-mail that you need it to downgraded to meet legal reqs.

yeah thats always another option...any idea on what stores will actually be reliable to do that?..like would you trust ehobby to actually downgrade it?

Had 2 AEG's imported from ehobby, they were downgraded, but to 250fps. But in saying that, you have to be very firm in your emails that they MUST be downgraded, otherwise they won't be. But once you send emails asking for downgrade, before order I might add, they will tell you to email them with order number so they know which ones to downgrade. Before shipping they will send you a paypal request for downgrade costs, once paid, then no matter what happens your covered by paypal for any dispute that might arise e.g, seized AEG. When it comes to importing AEG's, I find redwolf the best. Always downgraded to between 310-328 fps and there communication is second to none.

I've gotten an L96 from ehobbie shooting 470 out of the box (apparently) was opened by customes but was still delivered to my door! I've gotten alot of kit from them including many upgraded parts and have had no trouble what so ever. Airsoftpro.cz is another decent site, my brother got an A&K SVD with m170 spring from them no hassle. It is s bit nerve racking waiting to see if they clear customes but they did. Happy days!

    Nope:-P!
Didn't need to, went to a game with the L96 and was just under the joule. You can't believe what it says on the box! Also the SVD has the original spring back in. . . . I had a feeling someone was going to comment on the fps. Guessing your an aeg guy.

Ehobby, along with alot of other Hong Kong retailers are now only using UPS to carry Aeg's, gbb's etc. Because of the ridiculous high cost of UPS you would probably end up paying more than if you bought with an Irish retailer. I bought a 95 dollar pistol, paid UPS 45 dollars post, I then paid 21 per VAT, which UPS will make sure you pay , then UPS charged an additional 17 euro handling fee, a total rip off. I now ask specifically for TNT or a different courier when buying something from Hong Kong whenever possible, and don't support any retailers who use them. They also had the neck to charge me a 6 euro late fee payment notice and said they would hand the matter over to a debt collection agency if I choose not to pay them. Apart from that I've had no trouble with Ehobbyasia, always got my stuff exactly as described and on time. However I'd stay well clear of them until they switch from UPS.
