    Hi there folks

Wondered if anyone has experienced the same problem. I have a silvercrest sl65 box. It was working perfectly this morning, but this evening, It doesn't seem to be picking up any signal at all??? The dish hasn't been moved and I've checked all the connections??

    Anyone any ideas??

    Happening on all channels?

Do you use a "through-window-frame" connection?

Have you connected the sat beeper in-line to "hear" if the signal is good, or looked at the signal indicator ("INFO" button on remote) to see what levels you're getting?

Any time I've seen no signal on all channels is if the dish has been moved, or there was a bad connection.

    Thanks Polyfusion

Please excuse my lack of knowledge!!

I was getting around 50 channels as favourites on Astra 28.2, working fine all morning, went shopping, came home and nothing!

I've done a reset on the system but I think I may have made matters worse! I don't have a manual to fall back on.

Checked the signal via the remote control and the signal intensite is 0% and signal quality is 14%. The dish hasn't budged???

You can get a manual here: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/24719/Comag_SL65.html (the download link is towards the bottom, where it says "Download >> To download the file, please, click here ! << Download", it's not easy to spot)

If your LNB (the device connected to the cable, which is clamped to the arm bolted to the dish) has 2 connections, try connecting the cable to the other one and see if any channels come back (if it's safely within reach, of course).

Problem is that if you did a factory reset, the channels that will have been restored may have changed frequency, and you'll need to do an autoscan to find the updated channel list. I would try that anyway regardless of whether you switch the cable to a different connection on the LNB.

It doesn't take much movement of the dish to go from giving a signal to no signal, especially if the dish is a small one, and/or the alignment was marginal to begin with.

    Again, thank you!!!

I'll have to go home and borrow the ladder from dad in order to reach the dish. I've done an autoscan but I'm just getting the message "No program found".

Head wrecking!!! Why didn't I just get Sky installed!!!

If you're certain the dish hasn't moved, and that the connections are good, it would point to either the LNB or receiver being faulty.

Bringing the receiver to a pals house would be a good test to rule out the receiver. Always good to have extra equipment like a working receiver and LNB, connectors, etc., to swap in if things are giving issues, so if you can get any free, that's a bonus.

One other thing to check is that the power to the LNB is on, something like MENU button,-> SYSTEM SETTINGS -> LNB POWER. It's possible that a factory reset switches the LNB power off.

A small correction: especially if the dish is a large one. Small dishes have a wide "focus" and are much more forgiving of alignment errors than large dishes. (If you want a week of fun, try aligning a 2 metre dish without using a meter!)

Take the box to a neighbour or friend's house and connect to their dish. If the box works, take it back home and run a cable up to the dish and connect it to your box. If that works then your cabling is the issue and if it doesn't work then the most likely thing is that your dish may have moved slightly.
