    Hello,

Does anyone know where I might find a nice mens satchel bag online or in the shops? Preferably in black and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but is good quality. I was thinking of getting one as part of my bf's christmas present.

    Thanks alot

Search Amazon UK for the Visconti range of satchels and messenger bags.

You'll always find some proper leather satchels on eBay. I find the ASOS efforts quite synthetic and badly made.

I always seem to mention them as if I'm an old grandad but M&S do a plain black leather satchel for 80E.

I second River Island and also check Top Man where I got a nice faux black leather one.

Also make sure he is the type of guy who would use one. I have friends who love them and friends who hate them (the whole "man bag" thing which I think the comedy Friends tried to ridicule once puts some off). Personally I think they're great....although it means I tend to carry a lot more unnecessary junk around now...

I never got that! I think grown men going to work with school bags looks a bit daft.

Likewise, due to my age and position, carrying a briefcase to work would look equally daft.

A messenger bag is a good compromise imo.
