Adams and Waites will be the 2 expected to battle it out to be champion. The field dominated by UK and Dutch players with Belgian Geert De Vos the exception. For an outsider I might go for young Dutch player Benito Van De Pas even though Lakeside is very unforgiving to new young players on most occasions.

PDC draw not made yet as there's 2 players championship events next weekend and a World qualifier next Monday to decide the last qualifiers for the tournament.

I was very impressed with Winstanley in the Grand Slam and I think he can win Lakeside but 1 worry with him is his counting,he can leave himself on silly doubles at times from poor counting,he needs to sharpen up in this department. While Waites had a disappointing Grand Slam he had an impressive win at the weekend in a county game for Yorkshire averaging 34+ in the process.

Winstanley is definitely worth a punt. Looking at the draw he should definitely reach the semis from his quarter.
