mazda 323 1.6 coils cross-compatability

    I need to get a set of coils for my mothers 2001 mazda 323

    Engine is 1.6 twin cam 16v, far as I know it ran from 2001-2002 and replaced the 1.5 16v

    I know that the coils for the 1.5 and 1.6 have the same coils and leads and that the ones on the SOHC 1.3 are completely different.

    I don't want to buy new ones as they're mental money both spurious and from Mazda and she's getting a new car in 2012 so second hand ones are what's needed.

    Question: is the 1.6 in the mx5 the same engine, and if so, are the coil packs the same?

    Nobody (apart from us!) seems to have a 1.6 323 and that's reflected in parts availability


    Anyone able to check this out for me??
