TECHWOOD 32"

    HI,
    I recemtly bought a 32" TECHWOOD lcd tv with built in saorview. When i was setting up i accidentaly selected "italy" ,instead of ireland, in the setup menu without realising it. I let it do the scan and it picked up nothing ,as expected, but i cant get it to reset to ireland. does anyone know how to reset it?

    in menu look for something like "Restore factory settings"

    there doesnt seem to be any option to do this in the menu!

    I havent tuned this model myself but I would guess that in the tuning menu that you have to select the manual tune option and not the autoscan option. A particular chassis that I have tuned recently only allows country selection from manual tune option after inital setup.

    Surely this country selection (selecting Italy), shouldn't totally prevent reception of Saorview channels ? (as opposed to just the MHEG5 function, - which Italy doesn't use)

    Selecting Italy would put any Italian channels found on the lowest channels, but anything else received of other countries surely should also be stored ? (Its hard to believe that spill-over DTT reception from neighbouring countries would be blocked by this TV when used in the parts of northern Italy where it would be possible)

    Are you getting zero analogue either?
    Analogue in Italy would be a different matter, but you'd expect reception of analogue pictures with no sound?

    RESULT!!: I got back to the house today and took the unit out of its box(after it being left there for nearly a week) and plugged in all the cables. when i went into the menu and selected scan it gave me the option to clear the last setting so i chose this and got a menu that alowed me to change the country setting. I now have all the ire channells and (most of) the uk ones as well. Im not too far from cairn hill and about 50 miles from eniskillen so maybee a slight tweak of the ariel direction will get me a better reception on the uk channells?.
