Bought an mixer tap from IKEA over the weekend. It has 3/8 threaded copper pipes running into/from the tap. I want to attach this to 1/2 copper but haven't been able to find a 3/8 to 1/2 convertor/fitting.

I've tried woodies, B&Q, and Chadwicks plumb centre.

Anyone know where I can get these or something else that will do the job?

You sure they are 3/8? Most Euro stuff is 10mm. Thats what my swedish taps were.

Yes, definitely 3/8 according to the book that comes with it. I also put one end of the copper into a 10mm connector and it comes straight out.

The fitting you want is 1/2 x 3/8" i dont know why chadwicks dont sell them because they are an available fitting. Have you tried heatmerchants.

I reckon the only reason DPL could not be bothered is the fitting is about 5 euro and seen as though you did not buy the tap off them the invoice is not worth it.

Do you live in an apartment....? If not then this will not work very well on hot as it needs to be pumped.

Its for a house and its not pumped. The sink/tap I am taking out has similar size pipes so hope it will be okay. I'll ring Heatmerchants now. Already rang Smallmans and they were suggestion 10mm to 1/2"... they dont have 3/8 to 1/2".

I brought the 3/8" pipe to heat merchants and they checked with the 10mm connectors and reckon they are fine. I'll know when I fit it :D
