Another burner problem thread!

    Hi guys.
One of my friends has a problem with his burner and he asked me to take a look at it. I am not trained but would have bled the air from my system a few times! He ran out of oil months ago and only got a refil last week. When he turned it on nothing happened. I looked at the burner and the red reset light was on, I pressed it and hey presto it worked. For a few seconds anyway. I had to press the reset button 3 more times to get the burner to run continuously and surprisingly I didn't have to bleed it.
My problem now is that when the burner goes off it stays off until the reset button is pressed then it works fine again.
I'm calling over again this evening and wonder if there is anything I should look out for? All help appreciated.
I read on another thread that it might not be sealed properly, anything else I can check for?

Honestly, I could hazard a guess, but need more info...

Solenoid, capacitor, control box, fg recycling, blocked filters.....etc...
