Sky TV Links not working

Not very good with technical terms so will try to keep this as simple as possible.

Basically, electrician setup my Sky so that it could also be watched in our sitting room and bedroom in the house (cables run through the wall and there are ports for coaxial behind each TV, main Sky box is in sunroom).

The problem is that we can't change channels in the two rooms without the box. I bought two Sky TV links at the weekend so that we could.

I connected the co-axial running from the wall into the TV link and then the TV link into the back of the TV. I also set the RF Outlet Power to On on the the Sky system settings. I thought the TV links would then work fine but they aren't - the red lights on them to show they are running aren't even coming on.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I've tried all the usual stuff like turning them on and off. It's a Sky+ HD box that I'm working off and its connected from the box into the main TV via HDMI but there are also co-axials going into the wall off it.

Are you using standard aerial sockets to connect the tv? Sounds like these are preventing the power passing through from the RF2 out.

This will probably sound like a silly question but did you find the cables in the attic for two rooms and connect them with a power passing splitter to the one from box.

Nope, didn't do this. It was the electrician hooked all the cables up previously. I just bought the TV links and hooked them in at the back of the TVs.

So you can watch in both rooms but can't Chang channels?if so is the cable coming out of sky box connected to rf2 as this is the one that let's you change channel.rf1 only allows to to view.if they are I'd bet the problem is that he has it in a splitter that dosent let the power through to turn on magic eye.if he isn't dealing with t.v all the time he might not have known to do this.if you can find where cables are joined take them out of splitter and try them one at a time joined in f connection and barrell and see if it makes any difference.

Yes, I think he used a splitter. How can I bypass this or what do I need to do?

If they are then you'll have to replace them with non-isolating type (DC-pass). Might as well buy everything at the same time.
