Importance of gb

    Hello all,

Planning on finally buying a ps3 tomorrow. Gonna look around town for deals. Unless there's is a better deal for a 320gb playstation I think I will probably buy a 160gb.

Does anyone think this is wise/unwise? Bare in mind I'll really only play a select few games such as fifa 12 and COD. What is the use of a gb as high as 320 anyway?

You can use your ps3 as a media player, so you can transfer files from a FAT32 system to your ps3 (or play them directly from the external hard drive).

You can also install some games to the hard drive so that they run faster through menus, such as Gran Turismo 5.

Anything over 160gb is purely for video/music storage for the most part.

    Hope that helps.

I'm going to slightly disagree with this point. Many more games are now available for digital download. These games range from a couple of MB all the way up to 10 or 20 GB.

Installing JUST GOW trilogy [30GB?], Prince of Persia trilogy [20GB?], GT5 [15 GB?]and DC Universe [15GB], which I have all of and many, MANY more, consumes an ungodly amount of disk space.

As mentioned, you can upgrade the hard drive to 750GB [maybe higher] post purchase [the sooner the better].

I'd advise, purchase the smallest GB model you want but purchase a larger separate hard drive from Elara or Komplett. Win/Win.
