The official TNA Impact Wrestling website has apparently been hacked. The main page features a photo that boasts of the hacking. You can view the website at ImpactWrestling.com.

Powell's POV: The site has already been restored to its usual main page. However, we have included the image so that you can view what was temporarily showing when the site was hacked. Thanks to Dot Net Members Chris GST and Ernesto Cruz.

Update: The site was hacked again and a slightly different message appeared. Thanks to Dot Net Member Jeremy Moses for the update

Anyone remember when boards was hacked a few years back?
    That was fun..
I can understand Algerians hacking high traffic websites (such as boards) to get their message across of their plight. Its not nice or commendable, but it is effective.

But i wonder why they go after sites which really cant have that much going for it, such as the Impact Wrestling site.
    Google trends linky

WWE could have used a storyline hacking of their website last month, Miz and R-Truth hacking WWE.com (when Triple H was still Raw GM) would have fit in nicely with WWE using the Internet to get storylines more over. Just display a 'Hacked by Awesome Truth' photo on the homepage.

As for those Algerian hackers - idiots. Not really sure what hacking entails but are TNA at fault for having slack security on their website?

Most likely; the "public" hacks these days are usually targeting a specific software with a specific patch level which leaves a specific hole to be used to get in using software written by others.

I wasn't here when the boards site was hacked thank feck. But have always wondered been suprised that more Wrestling sites haven't been hacked i'd imagine certain ones get a decent amount of traffic.

No mention here of the obvious theory - it is a Lagana bull**** viral campaign to get TNA trending or whatever.

I think that one was during my absence. The one i was on about lasted all of about a day.
Actually i think i got the email about a year or so ago telling everyone to change their passwords if it was the same as their email passwords and that.
It was that which heralded my return. :pac:
