For hunting 120gr norma and for groups 108-123-or139 laupa depending on barrel lenght and twist .

Lots of good hunting ammo for the 6.5 but the norma was far and away the best .Its expensive @around 50+ euro a box

At the moment i use 140gr federal fusions, about 35 a box, group great in my sako 75, 1/2 at 100 yards. Shot a doe (lung shot) other evening, she ran bou 20 yards and droped dead. Great round for the 6.5. The hornadys on the other hand i couldnt group at all, best i could do was 3 inch groups at 100 yards!!! As for the normas 120gr bt, best round for the 6.5 if you ask me, used them all during last year for deer and foxes, knocked everything on the spot. Patrick Carley stocks the norma 120gr at 50 euro a box (enniscorty). Id still be using them only for its an hr and 20min drive for me whereas paul o halloran and stakelums just 20min. Also the first round i used for the 6.5 was the federal 140gr powershok, also a great load, any 140 gr load i used for the 6.5 group well for me, besides the hornady! Anyways if you can get your hand on the normas go for them. Just 1 more point, when i was talking to Patrick Carley the other day he said he will have PPU ammo for the 6.5 in at around Christmas time, think there 140 grainers sp at about 17 EURO a box. Hope this helps...

Norma loads a 140gr Partition as well at about 2700 fps which is as close to optimum as you'll get in a factory load. Would be well worth trying. I've seen it for about €40 a box or thereabouts in McCarthy's in Prosperous.

thanks lads thats a great help.. sako75 thats exactly what the hornadys were doin to me also, impossible to group, missed a few easy bucks an when i tried to group them i could see why i missed. il give the federals a try an hopefully it will solve the problem. ha 50 a box is pretty steep for 20 rounds! il definatlyhave to try them ppu also especially at that price.. thanks again lads,
