It would surely depend on what Big 4 offer you accepted, like PWC is a long distance from E&Y.
There is probably a seperate forum with lots of info on places to live in Dublin

If you're going to be working in D2 your best bet is a place on the luas green line.

As for a car, well running a car in Dublin is a bit of a nightmare if your not from Dublin. i.e. you don't know anyone in the vicinity of your office who has a spare space for you to use. And given the salaries paid by big 4's renting one and counting all the costs driving to work wont make much sense.

The luas runs past most of the big 4 and PWC have a bus from Stephens Green area (again the end of the green line)

There would be no need for you to have a car getting to work in any of the big 4 offices as they are all around the city centre. Parking/petrol/traffic would also make it pointless. Depending on where you are based will affect where you chose to stay but as mentioned before green line luas would work for E&Y, KPMG (stokes place) and Deloitte and the red line would work for PwC and KPMG (IFSC). Other than that most busses stop in the city centre so there's never going to be too much of a walk.

The only thing might be if you are doing audit, getting around to various sites. I'm not doing audit so Im not sure what the procedure is but as far as I know people tend to carpool going out to sites but that the driver gets mileage expenses etc.
