    Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of buying something from a UK based seller. It's a reseller for a larger outfit so i've not doubt the product is real, I just can't find any reviews, or user experiences with it online.

Can I buy this and try it out to see if it'll do what I want. Then if not, return it for a full refund.

I've contacted the main company and the re-seller. But neither are one bit helpful in giving me demos or documentation on the product.

    Thanks.

Probably although I would imagine you will have to foot the bill for postage to you and back to the company.

What does the company say about returning goods on their website?

That would set off alarm bells for me right away, questioning what will their aftersales service be like, places usually pay you less attention afterwards.

There may be good reasons that others might explain but you give no info about the company or item.

Some items are exempt so nobody can really say if the directive applies to you.

Well, the Company and product listing can be found at the following:

    http://www.acs.com.hk/index.php?pid=product&id=ACR122-SDK

I've found many, many resellers and I have no doubt about the company as a legitimate entity. I'm just concerned that I could end up with something that is unusable or at least very badly documented which makes it's use very difficult.

I found one guy online who said the SDK was just a bunch of sample code for various programming languages with very little documentation.

I think i'm going to give this a miss and see how I get on without it. I think it's possible to interface with the hardware without using the above SDK.

    Thanks.

It might not have been applicable as it had software.

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/consumer_affairs/consumer_protection/consumer_rights/distance_selling.html
Cancellation will not be accepted, however, in the following cases:

    * The provision of services have already begun with the consumer's agreement
    * The price of the goods or services is dependent upon financial market fluctuations that are beyond the supplier's control
    * The goods cannot be returned because they were made according to the consumer's specifications
    * The goods are audio/video tapes or computer software whose seals have been broken by the consumer
    * The goods are newspapers or magazines
    * The services are gaming and lottery services.
