    Hi
Can someone please advise . I have a second property that is rented out . I get approx. €6000 a year in rent . Do I have to pay tax on this income ? Is there an allowance / threshold whereby you only pay tax on rental income above a certain value ? thanks

you have to pay tax on the profit after allowable expenses etc. you can set 75% of the mortgage interest paid against it.

You have to be registered with the PRTB before you are allowed to do this

If you are living in the house I think you can make a substantial income from renting rooms without paying tax.
