Hi all looking to make use of the clear night skies we are having.
Can anyone recomend and areas outside galway city with low levels of light pollution.
Or as a rule of thumb how far away from urban areas does the visibilty improve?

Ps not bringing the scope I just want to view the night sky with the naked eye.
    Thanks

I found the fields behind (east of) the Parkmore East Business Park nice and dark, with a fantastic south and east horizon. Once you are out past the carpark lights it's dark enough.
Note - these may be private lands.
