YLOD Repair

    Hi,

So my PS3 recently fell victim to the yellow light of death and I was wondering if anyone has successfully gotten this repaired anywhere?

I am not handy enough to fix it myself and have found a few places around Dublin that repair it for around €45-€75 and wondering if anyone has gotten theirs repaired in a shop? I don't want to fork out money if it's just going to fix the Playstation for a month or two.

I'm getting Skyrim on Friday so needless to say, I desperately want the console fixed.

    How old is your console?
If it's not too old, have a read of this thread, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055795516

My console is pretty old. I think we got it a few months after the PS3 first came out..

If it's old like my one that just got YLOD ( and had a repaired other problem before that) Just go and buy a new one altogether, saving the hassle.

If you get it repaired it will only be a matter of time before it breaks again..

Yeah, new ones are like €250 so I can't see myself affording one of them in a long long time.

Sorry to bring this up again but I got the dreaded YLOD yesterday. Is there anywhere reliable that I can send it to in Ireland to be fixed or are all repairs just a short term answer and the better option is to purchase new? I am reluctant to buy new with the new ps4 on the way...
