Try and get down to Battery Park, if the weather is nice. It's a real runner's paradise, with distance view of the great lady herself.

hey - central park is a great place to run. Best thing is to enter the park from whatever side you are staying in and head for the lake in the centre. If you look at a map you can see the different entrances. There is a jogging path that runs round the lake and gives you some great shots of the city while you do a few laps. You will always have company on the track no matter what time of day you go out at. Pick a landmark or street reference so you can get back to your hotel. Its east to come out on the wrong side.

    trihead:)

When I was downtown a year or so ago, I ran the triangle from Hudson St (14 th St is an option too) around the tip of the island. Enjoyed it very much, early mornong runs while the rest of the gang were getting up and ready for the day. Under the Brooklyn Bridge... Wonderful. You'll easily get 14 or 16 kms in. more if you need em. Central Park is ok, but if you're downtown that's the one I'd do.

    Check out :

    http://www.centralpark.com/guide/maps/runner-s-map.html

which will tell you almost everything you need to know. The full loop is 6+ miles of rolling hills. The north west corner is Harlem Hill the toughest climb (short but steep) but you can avoid this by taking the transverse near 92nd St(?).

The resevoir path is a great 1.5 mile loop. If you try it remember to run counter clockwise !! If I was not injured I'd offer to join you.
