getting married in 2013, just trying to have a look around at styles and i want to visit a few places. I have no clue where to go. I will try the Oxfam store but apart from there and the high street stores like coast and monsoon is there anywhere else that sells wedding gowns for under 600 euro???

There's also the Barnardos store in Dun Laoghaire - I didn't try there but I have read good things about it on the Weddings Online forum.

Monsoon have beautiful dresses though that are great for a small budget - the most expensive one is around £300.

My sister got a very reasonably priced dress in a wedding/formal dress shop in Liffey Valley (sorry can't remember the name!). They had a sale on at the time so it was only about 200-300euro, but even aside from that I think at full price they were still cheaper than most.

I got mine on a sale in a bridal shop for 500 and they had cheaper. Just keep an eye out for the sales

Butterfly Bride in Blackrock are currently having a sale, no idea of the prices but it might be worth a look? I think Debenhams do wedding dresses aswell?

I think the shop in Liffey Valley is gone.

Look at the sample dresses in bridal shops, you are buying from the rail but they are way cheaper like can be 2k cheaper.

I don't know the name of the place but there's some great dresses at a bridal shop in Claregalway. I've seen a dress that was bought there for less than €200, brought to a dressmaker, touched up a bit, and was a class outfit. The total cost was all in for €350 and some people had it in the €2500 to €3000 price range. It can be done and shows the massive amount of money that can be saved.

I went to Oxfam. Complete waste of time. No one professional to help you choose or fit you, you have to do it yourself. Dresses are quite dated and naff. Not a great selection. Also, the room where you try them on was a mess and dirty. However, Barnardo's had a lovely section (alas very little in my size :( size 18) but they had a good few in the normal sizes and a proper tailor person to fit you and help you choose and the room was much nicer.

I got my dress in Baldoyle Bridal Outlet, it was 875euro (and then 220 for alterations, source your veil online, much cheaper) but they had a HUGE selection, lovely room and there were loads of dresses on sale (mine wasn't).

Sample sales in the bridal shops!

If you check out as many bridal shops as possible in your area and follow them on Facebook, many of them will update there when they are having sample sales and you could grab a great bargain!

That is exactly how a friend of mine got her dress at a price of 250euro(5 yrs ago though), she was on a majorly strict budget , she is 2nd youngest in a family of ten, she managed to put on a three day affair(the groom in english and all his relatives had to looked after) for about 12,000 in total.

    It's called Mozarina Bridal :)

I got my dress in the sales, 300 quid. less than 100 for alterations.
Hit the sales, you might be lucky :)

I had the same experience as above in Oxfam. Very 80's style dresses and kinda grubby.

Hickeys are good too since you can buy off the rail or have one made up.

was gonna say monsoon, but also I heard there's a place in Donnybrook that does dresses from 399 - not sure if that's always or a special offer. they only have off the rack so theyve some 'cheap' ones. Also, have you thought about getting one made? no idea how much that'd be but surely not much more than 600? depending who you get

Try the Bridal Outlet in Baldoyle. Ordered mine there about a month ago €550.00 and not even a sample dress. Lots of the dresses there are very reasonably priced.

Try http://www.sarahsbrides.com/ all her dresses are between €200 and €600, no more then that.

I think debenhams do wedding dresses or certainly dresses that could be used as a wedding dress.
Also, check out this website for secondhand dresses- www.sellmyweddingdress.net

just wondering, i know it would be nice to have the dress organised and that but would you be afraid that your taste or size might change between now and 2013? dont know about anyone else but the kate midleton dress has swayed my idea of a wedding dress
