A good few left upstairs in Blanch today at 1PM. Only to fit shoes from sizes 7 - 11, I think.

This afternoon I went to Penneys, Wilton Shopping Centre, Cork and bought a pair. Plenty in stock. They were located in the Mens' Section. Stated on front of the box "Men's and Women's shoe size 7 - 11.5". A staff member told me that this was the only size range they stock. Although I'm a size 5.5 shoe, they actually fitted me fine. Unfortunately, I was not able to try them on in the store itself. To sum up - certainly seemed a good buy at €5, even if they're made in China. I guess time will tell!

My thanks to OP Fdevine for earlier info.

My mother was going to buy these in Dunnes Stores last week for €15, i told her I'd order them online for less (presumably!) and €15 is an awful rip-off for a bit of rubber and a few grams of aluminum. Will get her to look in Pennys and might even get a set for myself as I bursted my arse a good few times last winter and semi-concussed myself one day after falling in my driveway. The following day I drew a bath of hot water and used a water pump through a garden hose and melted all the snow and ice before salting everything! No more falling for me!

Waiting on a pair of these (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/230686900560?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649)

Find the cross spring style much better than the studs

    Pretty limited size unfortunately.
even if they're made in China.

Id laugh my socks off if we got no snow or ice at all this year or early next year.

People panicing and panic buying masses of this that and the other...yet not a single snowflake hads fallen, not even a bit of heavy frost yet.

Everyone was saying "snow for halloween" yet it was one of the mildest on record.

    FFS like.

I can see it now, paddy147 to be the new "man that slipped on the ice on the RTE news" and oh how we will be laughing smuggily in our ultra cool ice grippers. "haha" is what I will chant, "haha" as i walk steadily into the distance.

I bought them in the firm expectation that it won't freeze at all if I get them - who says you can't influence the weather!

A nice wooly sock could help you with that username!

I was walking around dublin city centre in my work brogues (flat bottomed sh*te) and I would have done anything for a bit of grip, on casual Fridays I wore my military issued marching boots for the grip, the rest of the week I was slipping like mad.

To mock people who are buying grippers in advance like paddy147's post is mad, try taking a walk in a blizzard on the black slush ice everyday for weeks versus spending a few bob on something you will have for years and save a broken ankle or wrist!

Probably half of everything you own is made in China.
