Connecting flights - will I have time?

I am travelling from Bilbao to Standsted and then Standsted to Dublin next weekend.

I arrive in Standsted at 18.20 and I need to be boarding on the Dublin flight at 19.45 (going at 20.15). I also need to collect bags when I get to Standsted.

I have never been to Standsted before and was wondering if I will have enough time between the two flights. If I miss the 20.15 flight, the next flight back to Dublin isn't until the next morning.

Well Stansted isn't that big relatively speaking but depending on who you're flying to Dublin with you have to check in 40 minutes before departure so that really doesn't help. All going well I don't see why not but you can never be sure what delays there might be.

Having to collect the bags and check them in again is awkward. If everything goes OK you should make it, but that's assuming the flight is on time, the bags come off quickly, and there's no check in queue (or is there just a bag drop?)

Worst case scenario and I miss the last flight to Dublin - can anyone tell me how much I would have to pay to change the Ryanair flight to the next day and how much it would cost to stay in a hotel near Standsted?

They'll charge you full rate for a new flight the next day, not a change fee.

A last minute hotel booking is going to be expensive too. Check out some hotel booking sites for the prices for tonight, for example.

Prob wouldn't be worth changing the flight, just book a new one. And make sure you do it before midnight - they''re horribly expensive if you try to book a flight for the same day
