Used to use these cartridges made by winchester a few years ago , they were red and had long brass and were my #1 choice for pheasants !! I havent seen them around in a while does anyone know any shops selling them ? All I can get my hands on is RC and Hull :(

If they came in boxes of 10's; then they have not been made in years. Winchester farmed out all their ammo some years back

Must be 15 years since i shot them, could kill rabbits dead at 70 yards with my single barrel Baikal and one of them in a no.4,they were my favourite cartridge, the only other cartridge that i've found as good at killing is the Segas ,36g 4s.

    They were called Winchester Western.

I agree with all of the above, simply the best killing cartridge I have ever shot. I found about thirty of them when cleaning out the garage during the summer, dont really have the heart to shoot them.

RC Sipe are a close second (and thankfully are readily available>

was down in wexford fishing on saturday letting things calm down a bit on the shooting front, dropped in to eastcoast rod and gun he is doing winchester shells 4 boxes of 25 in a bigger box for 30euro they are winchester but not westerns but they are made in the states so I have not tried them out yet hope to get out on saturday will post when I get out let you know how the go,
one thing is they have a crome short cap not a long brass one like the westerns but as i said they are winchester and they are made in usa so probally as close as you will get.
