Getting a second job...does my employer need to know?

    Am currently in employment but have the offer of some odd weekend work, will i need a p45 from my current employer or is there a way i can get the second job without letting my boss know?

    ....hence does not apply to taking up additional employment.
    Some companies have rules about working for competitors and conflict of interest situations. It probably does not apply to very junior or non sales jobs.
    Your main employer will need to know hours worked to comply with working time law, which limits workers to 48 hours a week. Note this is not rigidly policed and should not ne a big issue especially if salaried and not hourly paid.

    It should be possible to get the necessary certs directly from revenue without involving your main employer if that is desired.
