    Hi all,
Got a problem with the 2 electric showers in our house and I'd really appreciate some help. We have 2 electric Triton showers and the problem is that with the 2 of them is that the only temperature is either scalding hot or freezing cold, no in between. and the other problem with them is when after they have been used and you switch it off the water continues to flow out and can do so for up to 10 minutes after.
where we live we have problems with the main water supply and every now and again the water does be switched off, which you don't know about until the water tank is empty, so i was wondering has damage been done to the showers when they are running and the water supply has ran out.
Both showers are only 2 years old so I'm a bit annoyed that they're fecked.
So my question is can they be fixed? new parts fitted or does the whole unit have to be replaced?
    Cheers all for reading.

The reason the shower heads are dripping are either

    1. The solenoids are dirty and need cleaning

    2. The splined teeth on the nobs are slipping.

The reason the water is hot and cold is the filters are most likely blocked.

tbh with the filters sounding blocked i would say the solenoids are blocked. this is an easy fix if you are fairly confident and a service call to barrets of maynooth if you not,

Its not a big problem for fixing.

Yea probably the filters by the sound of it, especially with attic tank running dry. Usually if mains water is off, the cold tap in the kitchen will have no water from it, which would indicate mains is off, before you run your tank dry.

Water flow is too low through the shower with blocked filter, which makes the water very hot from the shower, overheat stat cuts out, and it goes cold, stat now cools again and resets, then cycles over and over from roasting to cold.

Another cause of this is badly lime scaled heating tank and elements and/or shower head.

cheers for the help lads, gonna give the filters a clean tomorrow and see if that helps.
We don't get any warning about the water going off, and with the showers running, dish washer and washing machine the tanks empty before i go to fill up the dogs bowl at the kitchen sink and realise the waters off.
Yeah i've tried cleaning the shower head too, I put that much vinegar in it that i stunk like a chipper when i tried to have a shower afterwards,
Cheers for the help guys, really appreciate it.
Gonna give the filters a clean and see where that gets me.
