Skylanders on the dsi?

My eldest is looking for skylanders for xmas the problem is he has a DSI not a 3DS. Will it work on the DSI I know the 3d effect wont work but could you still play the game? Thanks

Nope the 3DS is a completely new system. It's available for consoles though.

Thanks for that he has an xbox but he mainly wants it to play with his friends who are all going to be playing it on 3DS so probably no point getting it for him.
