So yeah, I have to replace gear today in geargox of HK416 but I am doing it for first time, so how do I do it properly? any specific crucial rules or tips?
    I found image:

Se the gear with 3 holes? is it supposed to be aligned in that position when assembling or can it be aligned in any position?
Also which way should gears rotate ? clockwise or anticlockwise?
Should I also somehow test before putting lid back on?

that is the spur gear. That is the neutral position in the picture the bottom gear meshes with the motor thats called the bevel gear.(be carefull when removing this as there is an anti revese latch behind it) the bevel gear rotates anticlockwise, in turn spinning the sector gear clockwise which in turn spins the spur gear anticlockwise. hope this helps you
