Dissolving tablets in milk

My (not yet) two year old has to take some prednesol but won't drink the water that it is dissolved into, as it has a taste. However, he will drink milk and eat food (like beans etc) that the medicine has been mixed in.

So you can dissolve pills in milk, or do they lose their effectiveness? Or is it better to crush the pills into the food? They are bright pink so not easy to hide!

Please consult whoever prescribed the medicine, or the pharmacist that dispensed it.
