Missing channels - some Freesat boxes do not update automatically

This topic (change of frequency for True Entertainment and a load of music channels) was covered a few months ago it seems - however some people (like me) with cheapo Freesat boxes like Goodmans GFSAT100SD may not be aware that these boxes do not always automatically update after frequency changes.
I only just noticed I was missing True Entertainment and some other channels - channels that used to screw up due to my DECT phone - well it seems they have changed the frequency just for that very reason!
(with thanks to somebody who posted here back in August: )
    http://www.uksatellitehelp.co.uk/201...e-frequencies/

Earlier this week a number of free UK TV channels moved to a new frequency.

    The channels affected are:
    True Movies 1
    True Movies 2
    True Entertainment
    Bliss
    Chart Show TV
    Dance Nation
    Flava
    Kix
    NME TV
    Pop
    Pop Girl
    Pop Girl+1
    Scuzz
    The Vault
    Tiny Pop
    Tiny Pop +1

Whilst people with Sky boxes should not be affected, as their Sky boxes will automatically update to the new frequencies, some Freesat box users and some “generic” free to air receivers may be affected and may no longer be able to receive these channels.

For Freesat box users, a simple Freesat channel scan should reload these channels into the Freesat channel list with the new frequencies.

For other box users, then oyu will need to perform a scan of the new frequency for these channels, using the channel scan option in your recievers menu system.

The new frequency for these channels is 11307 v 27500 FEC 2/3

For other box users, then you will need to perform a scan of the new frequency for these channels, using the channel scan option in your receivers menu system.

It is thought that this change of frequency for these channels is due to interference from DECT phones and other wireless devices that can result in loss of these channels. In fact , these channels used to run adverts saying if you are affected by interference move the DECT phones and wireless internet router away from the TV, satellite receiver and satellite cable….although how you are meant to see those adverts if you cannot receive those channels beats me….
OK - my receiver doesn't have a rescan facility - only a "first time install" which I am reluctant to do as it would wipe my carefully gathered and exited non-Freesat FTA channels. However just doing a manual "add non-Freesat channels" on frequency 11307V 27500 produced all the channels - Freesat and non-Freesat - and a few minutes later True Entertainment was back on the right channel number and on the EPG.
Hope this helps some puzzled souls....:)

Old thread, you should've started a new one.

Now that you're here may as well post a response, those Irish channels aren't available via a Freesat box. I'm assuming you're using a combi receiver of some sort, can you post the make and model of the receiver?

Missing some Saorview channels will indicate a weak signal for one of the frequencies that carry the Irish channels. This could be down to an aerial, cable and/or connection issue. What type of aerial are you using, indoor/outdoor etc.?
