Any comments on Kudos Teenage disco last night. My daughter said it was terrible - couldnt move, tap water 50c a glass. She spent the night out in the foyer with her friends. They were all very disappointed.Never again. An ambulance was called at the end of the night for someone. Is this the norm out in oranmore?

Sounds like the norm from most discos (teenage and adult) before and during the boom. Adult ones do be a bit quieter nowadays and I wouldn't know about the teeny ones.

Not to be harsh but it sounds this type of socialising may not be for her.

Tbh, it sounds like a normal disco. Crowded, overpriced and hyped.
It's not going to get better when she starts going to real discos either, just more expensive.

I just want to say that i was meant to be at that disco last night but as soon as our car got within a 200 metre radius of the place, (oh and can i add that this was at 8.30pm, the times doors were meant to be opening) we saw a man in a glow in the dark vest talking to the people in the car in front of us. he then came to us and asked were we going to the disco. we told him we were and he told us to go home that it was at full capacity. there was no one going in yet, just queuing outside it. i'm terrible at estimates so i couldn't say how many people were standing outside of it, all i know is that the que was going back as far as the car park, if you know Oranmore. this morning, my freinds mother told us that there is a girl in hospital with possible bruised ribs (a grand-daughter of a man she knows), and that she was still waiting on test results to see if she is injured internally. i do not know the full story so this is all "alleged information". I also heard that a girl got a broken nose when a fight broke out.

I have been to Kudos Teenage Disco's twice before and I have to say I enjoyed them! i havn't witnessed any fights or any of the serious incidents that i heard happened last night but i do have to say that there is always a slight bit of pushing going up and down the stairs and there is always a few eejits that are a bit rough on the dance floor. But, to be honest there is always a bit of that wherever you go, whatever age you are, i think.

It has scared me to hear all these stories by word-of-mouth, by Facebook and other means of communication. I think personally it will take a bit of convincing to get me going there again. On the contrary, where else is there? it was about 40 minutes of a car trip to get to Oranmore last night, only to be sent home. Luckily(my friends would disagree) we knew of another disco on in Loughrea, might I add we only knew this because my younger(by 2 years) brother and my friends sister(by 2 years also) were going. When we arrived we were greeted by children, 2,3 or even 4 years younger than us, mostly all of our friends little brothers and sisters. Truthfully this was not an environment we wanted to be in.
To conclude my little rant i seem to have gone off on, I have to admit, It was dangerous and ridiculous (allegedly!) but... Where else is there?

These discos are always packed to maximum capacity, so the general consensus must not be that they are "terrible". When I was 15-16 I wouldn't have been disappointed with my night just because it was packed and was 50c for water(the events are being hosted for charity)
An Ambulance outside could be for any number of reasons, ambulances were frequently at teenage discos in salthill and monivea when i used to go to them-this is not something that is in any way specific to Oranmore.

Jesus.. I remember teenage discos. You'd see worse things happening in there than you would in most nightclubs, even worse than what you'd see in CPs!

Yes, that was a low dig at CPs.. but, meh
