Cork County Council looking for 12 Engineers - No Wages

    Browsing through the FAS website today and I couldn't believe the amount of Intern posts advertised by Cork County Council.

    The majority are 9 month posts.

    I now see why the government introduced this Intern programme.

    Plenty of Intern jobs and no jobs for those who are qualified for several years and may be settled in the country, pretty sad alright.

    What do you think?:(

    Suppose it depends on what the jobs are and if they are getting free labour.

    If they are doing this rather than taking on paid engineers its wrong (they cant take on paid engineers). If its genuinely give experience to graduates then I think its ok.

    Also dont you get an extra €50 on top of your social for doing it? Not much but it all counts.

    It seems like a good scheme, bit of experience, extra 50e, but it is open to alot of exploitation by the employer in my opinion.
