Just got a text from a local manager asking if I would do this course.

    What is involved in this?

That is a great link by rebel girl 15 there i will add to it as i have the foundation coaching.

It was over a two day period with a few hours each evening. If the course with you is run the same as mine the first part will be theory and the second practical. The theory covered topics as structure within the clubs namely the child protection officer and what is involved with that. The group was broken into two smaller groups and we were asked to list drills we would use/have used. Now i did not know that the structure of the coaching had changed and it had more focus on child coaching, i was coaching a senior ladies team at the time so be prepared for that.

The practical one (the second evening) was putting the drills we listed into practice. We were also given a random skill card and told to teach the entire group as if they were kids, i got kick passing and struggled to keep a straight face showing a senior All Ireland champion (Richard Ferris from the derry 1993 team) how to do a basic kick pass :D

All in all it was easy enough no reason not to do it, hope this helps

Nothing to get excited about tbh.....basically a paper ezersise devised to show on paper a level of competancy and to make sure 'head office ' is covered in case of any legal issues IMO.

Ye might be asked to come together in a group to coach the rest of the group, but there really is no such thing as a right answer in these sorts of courses
