Alfa GT - Squeaks and Rattles but......

So I have my GT for 6 months now and all is well but for 2 anoying rattles and squeaks. One that is coming from the tailgate and the other seems to be coming from the right side of the dashboard. They both sound like aeroboard being rubbed together.

The strange thing is, on wet days there is no noise what so ever.

Looking for some advise - is there some areas that need to be lubricated? Are there parts that should be replaced?

    Thanks - Twin-go

The 'tailgate rattle' is a known issue and can be due to any number of things that aren't properly fixed in the boot. I suggest you head over to alfaowner.com/forum and you will find plenty of discussion and maybe even a solution.....silicone spray around the seals is one thing to try anyway.

Re. the rattle/creak in the front, see if the panel below the steering wheel (where the fuses and OBD port are located) is scewed in correctly.

    Thanks Redsoxfan!

I will try the silicon spray on the boot seal a see does it make a difference.

Thanks for the link to the alfaowner site.

The noise that is coming from the dashboard, when the roads are dry, seems to be coming from the top right. The fuse panel is fastened correctly.

You'll always find that a car will seem more solid and less rattly on a wet day. The water on the road acts as a "cushion", making the road surface less harsh. Also, if its lashing rain, the noise of the rain itself will drown out other noise!
