4S from USA ?

    Hi, Is it a good idea to get Iphone 4S from USA from apple.com for 599 USD ( 420 EUR) and then pay taxes and duties which should be 80 EUR (plus pay another 20 EUR for shipping company)? It looks cheaper doesn´t it ?

    You cannont buy an iPhone or any apple product from Apple's USA website while based outside of that country. you can view them, add to cart but as soon as you try buy/pay for the goods it diverts you to your local apple store which is www.apple.ie


    you can of course walk into an apple store in USA and buy a sim free 4S but they are not available sim free in the USA until mid November.

    even your figures are wrong btw, its 420e to buy the phone, then 9% state taxes (depends where you buy from), then insured delivery and then irish custons VAT, it will be cheaper to buy here.

    i have a colleague going to US for a couple of weeks so he might do me this favour.
