Chrome Start Up Time

    After a fresh boot up I find Google Chrome seriously slow , considering they praise themselves with the fastest browser today it still takes from 9-14 seconds for chrome to launch vs firefox 2-3 seconds

    I dont have any extensions themes or bookmarks saved , cleared history cookies ect but still no effect

    Any thoughts ?

    Ugh, I've had so many problems with Chrome lately. Seeing as I switched from Firefox to Chrome for speed reasons (my MBP is on its last rubber pads), I've now gone back to Firefox. I don't know what's going on with Chrome.

    Yea, Chrome is turning into a bit of a hog from my experience lately. It's still fast but it's huge for a browser, nearly 200mb in my app folder (not sure if that's normal but it seems huge). And it uses a serious amount of the proccessing power. I did a full re-install a few weeks back and it sorted it for a while, but it's starting to act up again. Still better than firefox imo. I like safari but not enough extensions/plugins that I use.

    On start up I only have :

    * Smc Fan Control
    * Caffeine
    * Native Instruments Hardware Agent ( Driver for Traktor pro 2)

    Also Its not a slow computer its quad core i7 and I just upgraded it 8gb ram
    Its only lately that chrome acting up . :(
