    hi folks.

i unlocked a 3gs and a 4 today officially through o2 and vodafone respectivly. both gave me the message of "congratulations your iphone is now unlocked" through itunes after doing the restore process. now however both phones are displaying no service when another sim is installed in either phone andboth were working perfectly before this.

has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it.

    thanks.

Stupid question but I assume you did a restart after you put the sim card in?

Id try doing a full restore, via itunes. If that fails, id be stomping into O2 and VF.

you have to do a full restore to unlock anywho so no joy there either. its a funny one that they both stopped working due to the same issue after being unlocked. i thinks its more apple than either of the carriers

mmm that's strange have a Iphone's unlocked (3G, 3Gs and 4) and never had that problem, do you get a list when you search for Networks?check that the network selection is set to Manual, when you search for a new network select the network from the list.

I unlocked a 3GS with VF a few months ago, done a factory reset, and put a meteor sim into it and it worked. It was connected to itunes at the time also and it said the phone was unlocked.

i've unlocked previous iphones as well with no problem. first time ive seen this. it will detect all 4 networks but even selecting the original network i get a network restricted message.

Have you tried disabling the SIM PIN if there is one? Seems to be an issue with the 4S so might be an iOS 5 thing too.
