    Just happened today.
Long story short, I have UPC broadband.
We had been having problems with our wireless connection the last few weeks, so an engineer was out today.

He changed the network name and password, But I am getting the above reply. "Alert: No internet connection."

Doesn't say password accepted or anything just "Alert: No internet connection."
Works out on my brothers laptop which is a PC,
Works on his blackberry and the two iPhones in the house.

I'm making this thread by ethernet. It's extremely irritating as I have alot of college work to do and need the wi-fi to be working.
I rang UPC and they said they changed the encryption and it still did nothing, they said it was not at there end.

Any ideas what I can do? Need help asap.
    Thank you.

you might have to get you mac to "learn" the new network info.
System Preferences -> Network -> Wi-Fi (make sure its on) then
From "Network Name" drop down menu select "Join other network" and enter the new info.
You can also get there by clicking on the Network menu bar icon in the top right.
if you've done this already then apologies,
you might have to wait for some of the more experienced folks to come on.

in the meantime you could look at this to see if anything works

I hope you get this sorted. I had a problem the other week: wi-fi dropped off without warning and I couldn't get back on (other Mac that was off at the time was fine), some error about a self-assigned IP address. Took a while and a bit of fiddling to get it sorted and I'm not convinced it won't hiccup again, we'll see. The solution probably lies within your network preferences, Airport, maybe restarting a few times. I did a reset on the router as power-cycling it didn't make any difference.

I don't know what the UPC equivalent of checking 192.168.1.254 (using Eircom here) is in terms of reviewing your router's settings, but some settings there might give you a clue. Sorry I can't remember exactly what I did in detail, but your issue should be solvable.
