Desperate for Internship / work placement

    Hello guys 
    I'm in 2nd year doing finance and economics and is gotten to the stage were firm/corporations give internship to students. 

    As I want to be a stock trader I am thinking of applying to the likes of SIG and other trading firms for the position of a junior trader assistant for the summer of 2012. 


    My results in 1st semester last year was bad but in 2nd semester it improved as I got 2 x 1.1 and 2 x2.1 and a pass

    There's a massive need for improvement but I need some internship under my belt. 

    I have applied to the likes of Intessasanpalo life ltd,
     which I was rejected as they  needed someone to start immediately. 


    I did my work experience in IBM and the guy I did It with a top manager I got his email from a mate there, but I don't know what to say to him. 

    He's the manager there and what he specialise in is what I'm studying in school. So I was thinking of smashing my results of the class the. Getting a lecturer who worked in IBM for 14yrs to write something good about me. 

    Im vey desperate for this internship. My brother just got an internship is SIG trading firm in an IT position for 9months. 

    I'm vey desperate any suggestions.

    The bit I have changed to heavy type is not making sense to me ( maybe needs editing ) , what is the IBM issue exactly ?

    The bit about the IBM is another option that i can follow.

    My degree is major minor.

    Major in economics and a minor in business.


    The business course that i am studying in college now which is supply chain management is exactly what I did my work experience in.


    And the guy I did it with now is the manager in IBM he's actually the 4- 6th guy in control there.

    My preferred choice is to get an internship that deals with economics (trading) if not I will like to get one through this guy in IBM thats if I know what to say to him.
