Hi guys, i hope this is in the right place.
Have recently upgraded from a p&s to a nikon D3100, which i am still learning how to use. I brought it to a football match recently (mayo county final) and was shooting in sports mode, sometimes using the "burst" mode, taking 4,5,6 shots together. When i downloaded them to the laptop i noticed the picture below, i was using a nikor 55-300mm af vr lens.

    Thanks,

Looks like a problem either writing to the card or when you were transferring to the computer. What did it look like on the camera?

I did'nt see it on the camera, it was only when i was looking on the laptop that i noticed it. Would it be 2 photo's in one? The top half is brighter than the bottom half. I've just remembered aswell i was panning right to left following the ball, the two halve's seem to be offset.

Could be two strung together while transfering, do you still have the pictures on the card?

This has happened to me once or twice, but only on a certain SD card - its a grade 4 card, I think, meaning it has slower read/write speeds.

we used have a problem before as well with one of our computers, even sometimes one third or one half of the picture would be completely black or some other colour, but they would upload fine to another computer. we used to delete them from the computer and then upload them again, dont know the reason for this.

No, out of habit when i download photo's to the computer, i format the card, ready for use again. The card i was using is a Sandisk SDHC 4GB.
I see there's a 4 inside a circle beside the SDHC, would that be the speed of the card, would that make a difference?

Without seeing it on the camera I couldnt say for sure, it might have been when it was writing to the camera but this usually fills the buffer on the camera before it clears

The problem here is that the number 15 has sliced his kick and the ball is heading to the wrong side of the posts. The other problem is that there is no-one there to see it !!!!!!
