What do I need to do to go to Oz?

Im nearly 33, have a few mates in Oz, they are making very good money. The money they are on is tempting me to look into going over for a year or 2. Im a diesel mechanic/fitter. Anyone know if there are jobs over there in my trade and what criteria do you need to meet to quallify to go over?

They are probably best qualified to answer your questions, having done the move already.

Diesel mechanics are in demand over here. Have you looked into the visa process for a 33 year old to work in Australia? It may not be worth it if you only intend to come over for a year or 2. The quickest way would be to get sponsored but it can be very difficult to get sponsored unless you are already over here. My advice would be to do some more research and then decide if it is worth your while. Have a look at these links:

Have a look at employment agencies in Ireland. Some of them used to offer sponsorship to diesel mechanics. Just note that these jobs usually pay less than what everyone else in on in WA.

Heaps of jobs overhere in your trade. In WA anyway.
