Updating Iphone 4 to ios 5

So i have a Iphone 3g and my mom has the 4. There is one computer in the house on which i regularly use itunes. If i sync the Iphone 4 on itunes will the content on my phone be copied to the 4. Thanks

If you "sync" whatever is in your iTunes library will be put on the 4.
If you use "backup" whatever is on your 4 will be added to the library.
