My parents bought an oven on a website there (DD). It was brand new but the seller said that he bought it as bulk with all their other appliances and that when he went to put it in they realised that the spark hadn't wired for an electric cooker.
All they could use was 1 ring at a time but that they had used the oven once or twice and the grill once.
So they decided to get a gas cooker.

So my parents asked me to keep an eye out for one for my grannies house, Dad had to wire up a separate breaker and cable to the cooker for her house.
We bought the item off him (he said he would stand over it for 1 month no problem) but it took us 5 weeks to get all the wiring in place and it worked fine. The rings work away and they were happy out.

Anyway last Sunday they put a chicken in the over and after 2 mins it knocked off the main breaker, not the breaker which the over is on, but the main breaker and knocked off all power.

I contacted the seller and got the "it was working fine", so I have no come back on that.

But what I am trying to establish is if we have bought a dud or can we try something to get it working.
I have powered off everything in the house and tried both the over and grill (this is part of the over) and it bangs off after 2 mins.
The rings work fine.

There is 32amp breaker which the oven is wired to.

Any help appreciated as I am embarrassed and annoyed for my parents about this. Maybe the lad is genuine but at this time we are concerned we bought a dud.
