If we have to pay for a tax plastic bags, companies should have to pay a tax for junk mail. That will stop 90% of it

I love when a magazine that's shoved in peoples letter box for free and without the recipients consent boasts of its high circulation numbers.

How much of the rain forest has been destroyed to supply the world with the tonnage of paper that goes on to print the junk mail we all know we don't want ? .

Put up a sign, I typed one up saying 'No advertisements, leaflets, unsolicited mail or charity collection bags - THANK YOU', stuck that to the post box, and that stopped 90% of it.

Its bad enough that its a load of nonsense as a paper, but as an atheist been greeted with "Atheists are no-hopers, losers" on a paper on the hall floor gets on my nerves.

Post it back to them with no stamp - they'll have to pay for it. Add some more of your junk mail to it to make it even heavier and more costly. Sorted!

Crap, thought they were giving away free copies of Alive.

Love a good cannibal movie I do.

A nasty, prejudiced little rag. When it tries to get down with the kids, it's hilarious. A recent headline "Orthodox is the new cool, 1960s-style lib is passé". Yep, just keep telling yourselves that... :pac:

In before the "You're being anti catholic" protestations. I couldn't care less what religion it represents - it's a hate-filled waste of space.

I recommend Cannibal : The Musical.

Unlike the Catholic church it has some good tunes.

I never get it in my door, never have done as far as I remember.

Pretty sure you could claim they were persecuting your (non) religious beliefs and classify it as hate mail. Particularly when it says that Athiests are "losers" etc.

It also really gets my goat when you see the Bibilical verses on posters on the bus. I just want to enjoy my journey home, please don't make me look at that tripe the whole way. (don't get me started on the Scientology ones  )

    I loath the thing .

Really to me it stirs up religious hatred.

After all if I was to write a mag and deliver it to everyone saying " Catholics are losers " , or " Muslims are losers " then quite rightly I would end up with the police calling round.

I remember one article it had ( one of the first times I saw the mag so I didn't know what it was ) , telling me that it was proven that abortion causes blindness .......... never mind your views on abortion , to say it causes blindness is total and utter tripe.

I did the same during elections. Everything stopped. Considering a permanent sign. Regardless of the subject, there is way too much junk mail.

Yeah, because all the cool kids are now devoted to Our Lady and quoting Pope Benedict XVI - cool kids been associated with smoking, drinking, sex and drugs is so last year

The last time I got it in, I saw "Atheists are no-hoper losers page 4" on it's usual 10 second journey from letterbox to recycle bin.

It's like Trolling: The Newspaper or something...

    Woman refuses
    to pay for her
    TV licence
A Catholic woman has told a
UK high court she would rather
go to prison than pay for a TV
    licence, given the anti-Catholic
    bias of the BBC.
    Veronica Connolly objected in
particular, she said, to the showing of Jerry Springer The Opera
    which, “ridiculed Jesus and was
a violation of her religious conscience.”
The show, broadcast on BBC in
January 2005, drew 55,000 complaints, making it the most complained about TV show ever.
Mrs Connolly, who is wheelchair-bound, told the court that
    she only watches the Catholic
    channel, EWTN, on Sky.
    Having lost her appeal in
London, she now plans to take
her case to the European Court
    of Human Rights.
Her legal team, headed by barrister Paul Diamond, claimed
that having to support the BBC,
    with its “anti-Christian bias,”
    breaches Mrs Connolly’s right to
    religious freedom.
TV, said Diamond, is now “a
primary organ of communication” and “compelling” viewers
to pay a licence fee to the BBC,
which he described as “a monopoly”, can no longer be defended.
    However, the court argued that
the licence fee pays for “general
    broadcasting services”, not just
the BBC, and if it were optional

It seems that being Catholic and being a tight-arse are the same thing, :D.
