Small claims court doesn't cover small debts

    Hi
My husband is owed around €300. He's self-employed so every penny counts. The chap who owes him this received a service, invoice and several paypal requests. He has apologised several times, was delighted with the service but has never made even a small attempt to pay it.

I thought I could mention the small claims court to him but I've looked it up and it doesn't cover things such as this.
    Thanks,

No, unfortunately small claims wouldn't cover this and the amount is so small that it wouldn't make it worth his while going to court over it.

One option is to employ a debt collection agency - they'll take a cut of the debt, but may have more success in getting the cash.
The other option is to speak to his accountant about writing it off as a bad debt. He may be able to use the bad debt to his benefit on his tax bill.

Obviously this person should not be given any future services or even advice until they've paid the money.
