I use a 50D and 5D II and am looking for a good walk all round or just a walk about lens for either camera. Just wondering what any of you use or recommend for using for something you can just leave on the body and shoot away.

    For the 5D I recommend a 24-70 f2.8 lens

I bought a 17-50 f2.8 lens after debating for ages whether to get that or a 24-70 f2.8
I went with the 17-50 as it'd giv eme the extra width and thought I could always crop as I don't have the extra length.

    It's a tough call...
