    Searched but no use...

Was out this evening and decided to lose my key to the car.
Single key on its own :rolleyes:

I'll go back tomo I have a fairly good idea of my route..

Car is a 96 opel astra.

Do I have to go down the route of main dealer, lock change etc etc.. Or is there a better method?.. Logbook/Chassis number and a lock smith?..

    Really gutted :(:(:(

Mobile locksmith will be able to sort you out on the spot. Will still cost a few quid but less than the dealer route and less hassle too.

It is a chipped key but these guys should have all the gear to sort it there and then. Where are you located?

Breakers yard would have one pretty handy, also a fair amount on DoneDeal. You'll need the ecu as well as the barrel so that it works, I think, but should be pretty cheep

If you are near Dublin, there is a brilliant locksmith just at the traffic lights on Parnell Square north, beside the music shop Walton's.

They sorted me out in 10 minutes for a spare and have all professional computer access to the manufacturers keys and make them themselves.

Cost about 15 euro but well worth it.

Ring Cunneens on Oliver Plunkett street, see what they say. If they can't help you they'll probably know who can...
